The large scale quantitative easing performed by the Bank of England, the Fed and the ECB (which is buying PIIGS bonds to stabilize yields) seems to have arrested the financial and fiscal collapse that was beginning to erupt in Europe during the Fall.  Is it possible that these actions have given the West enough time to get their houses in order?
